The Britex Fabrics Story
Britex Fabrics is a one of a kind sensory experience for tactile lovers. From its humble roots in the garment center in New York to its spacious San Francisco location, Britex has been delighting visitors, influencing styles and supporting creativity and individuality for more than 70 years.
Martin and Lucy Spector fell in love with San Francisco and moved their iconic store to the heart of Union Square in 1952. Seven decades later, Britex remains family-owned and run, a must-visit destination when in San Francisco. The European tradition of organizing every group of fabrics lovingly by color offers a dramatic introduction to the world of textiles. Generations of fabric lovers describe Britex as a delight to the senses, a visual candy store.
