FREE! 83,500 Vintage Sewing Patterns Database

The sewing community takes care of its own! Thanks to a collaborative effort, 83,500 vintage sewing patterns from Vogue, McCalls, Butterick, Simplicity, and others have been put into an online database, viewable by the public. Each look is at least 25 years old, and is organized by decade, garment type and designer. If you want to recreate a Dior look from the 50s, this is a great place to start! Then pick out some scrumptious fabric to work with--we have fabulous new silks, brocades and wools in our brick-and-mortar and online stores!

Yes, this isn’t actually true. The Vintage Pattern wiki has been around for well over a decade, and none of the patterns themselves are free – or usually even available for purchase anywhere! It is just a database that shows the pattern cover, sometimes the pattern back, and will occasionally have a link for a vintage vendor that offers only one of that pattern for sale. Nevertheless, it can be a good resource for research!

Deceptive description- the patterns are not free, nor are they available on the link. All that is shown is the pattern envelope, with links to where you can buy the pattern- for $35 or so. Britex, you can do better.
